LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black Reviews

LG does'nt get enough praise.
Just bought this TV for the sake of it being an IPS panel and for its apparent adjustability (and also 1080p). Plus this tv is so easy to calibrate; the 'picture wizard' is extremely helpful.
The amount of menu options is jaw-dropping, as is the style of the set. The LH40 model looks neat with the plastic square along the bottom of the panel, but I like the more minimalist look of the LH30, and I do not like the 120hz or the 0 price jump of the LH40.
I made a comparison to my sony 32M4000 (which I have now given to my father) and there are some interesting differences (many are polar opposites):
-The sound is far superior on the LG.
-Black levels are very close, sony's is a bit deeper and maintains black colors better at angles.
-The whiteness of whites is slightly better on the sony, but colors and mid tones definitely have more of a 'punchy' factor on the LG.
-Color is amazing; rich and saturated; best ive seen on any LCD, period.
-Color does not wash out at all from different angles, only very dark colors and black tend to become discolored (blue or red depending on the angle).
-Of course there are far, far fewer picture options on the sony.
-My sony has a ghosting problem with dark colors, not so on the LG; motion blur and lag is also reduced too.
-OTA HD channels look decent enough, not as sharp as the sony, but the better color makes up for it imo.
What was the main factor that made me get this LG?..its S-IPS panel.
Samsung is an excellent maker of lcds, but I steered clear of them this time, as buying a tv from them is like playing the lottery. They use 3 different panels with differing levels of color and contrast quality; you are not essentially getting what you pay for:
You may get Samsung's own S-PVA panel, the best quality (if you're lucky).
An A-MVA panel from Taiwan's AUO (a notch worse than S-PVA).
Chinese company Chi Mei's S-MVA panel (worst of the three).
Panasonics IPS Alpha panels are decent, but on some panels dark colors appear far too blue from different angles.
That narrows it down to LG's S-IPS panel; its color saturation, vividness, and response time are worth the slight sacrifice in contrast and black depth (at least in my opinion).
This tv is not perfect, however; I spotted 3 dead pixels right out of the box (2 bright, 1 dark), right around the middle of the screen. They are practically invisible without being a foot from the screen and looking hard for them, however.
Viewing angles demonstrate some darkening of the picture, but its not too bothersome (swivel stand helps).
No other flaws I can think of at the moment, I recommend this tv!

I purchased this TV from Amazon supplier Tiger Direct based on Amazon reviews in early November 2009. We have a two year old 32" Samsung HD LCD TV that we were moving to another room and the LG TV was purchased to replace to older TV. My wife and I both found the quality of the picture to be inferior to the Samsung. Moreover, the biggest problem with the LG TV was the deterioration in picture quality with viewing angle. The LG also seemed to have a slight problem keeping audio and video in sync on a few programs, somthing we had not noted in our other TVs (we have four flat panel TVs in all - only one is HD) Given the room we planned to place it in required a wide viewing angle, we returned the TV.

Viore LC19VH54PB 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Reviews

I am really happy with this TV. It looks great, the picture is very clean, and the sound is adequate. I was a little skeptical but after receiving the unit and hooking the TV up I am more than satisfied with my purchase. This is my first TV from VIORE but the price was very compelling and I noticed that they had pretty good reviews on their other TVS on Amazon. Great buy and I would recommend this TV to other people.

The picture on this 19 inch flat panel TV is fine. The audio is tinny and it is slow changing channels.

Sharp LC19SB27UT 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black Reviews

I bought this 19" TV to replace an older CRTV I had in my guest bedroom and so far I have been very happy with my purchase. The remote is pretty simple/basic but it gets the job done. The sound and picture quality are good and I like the overall appearance of the TV. I would recommend this TV to others. So, if you are looking for a good deal on a small LCD TV then I would recommend you look at buying this TV.

This little TV is great for a kitchen or as a small tv for a guest room or childs room. The remote is simple and concise. Setup is a breeze. Wall mounts easily. The picture is excellent. The viewing angle is excellent. I researched alot of 19" LCD TV's and decided on this one. Many other 19" tv's have a poor viewing angle...this one does not. The picture is clear. You will not go wrong with this TV. I have mine connected to a small radio shack Hi-DEF off-air antenna for the kitchen. I was amazed that I gets over 20 HD channels on it. The antenna is small and mounted outside. I would really compare this TV to Sony, Samsung. Its just as good. Not to mention the price..wow..it was about the same price as the bargain, off-brand TV"s. You wont go wrong with this little beauty! Youll see every pimple on American Idol! Whew hooh!!!!

Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV Reviews

I am really thrilled with my purchase of this Haier HLT71 7-inch, ATSC 2009-ready portable LCD TV! I have never heard of this name brand Haier, and I had heard many nightmare stories about some of the other name brands having poor pictures on these little screens, so I thought I'd give this Haier a try.
I ordered this tv directly from Amazon and it came to me from a seller on Amazon who goes by the name ANTOnline. The seller sent this perfect and fast to start with, which is always a big plus with me. When I opened the box, the set looked very sleek and light weight, just perfect! The tv I received is exactly like the picture shows in this description, black (it is the picture that has the remote control next to the tv), with really simple control buttons on the front. I then looked at the directions, but realized, I didn't need to read them at all! Everything is really obvious! The set has a little slide switch on the side to turn on the power. The antenna screws in really easy. It comes with a plug for the inside electrical outlet, and a plug for the car lighter, and a lightweight rechargeable battery! It has a little remote control which they made very easy to read! After screwing on the antenna (or you can attach your cable cord if you are using it in the house), I basically plugged it in, slid the power switch on, pressed the button to scan for setting the channels, and it does it quickly! In about 1 minute, it was set! I then tried the small battery, and it played perfectly without the electric power!
The picture is absolutely gorgeous, as it has the new atsc digital signal receiver built in! To see the local programs in digital on this little screen was fantastic! Colors are crisp, sharp and vivid, just like a big hdtv!
I have noticed that some reviews are giving this tv a low rating because it did not pick up any channels with the single rabbit ear that comes with the set. This tv picks up EVERY signal that is being broadcast in your area. Before you buy this tv, you should first go to a website called Antenna Web. On this site, you type in your address and it will show you exactly how many channels you can receive in your area and what type of antenna you will need to pick up the signals. Antenna Web said that in my area I could receive 8 signals, and the single rabbit ear that comes with this tv picked up all 8 channels. When I used a stronger antenna, I picked up 3 more channels. When I used my cable cord, I received over 60 channels, and when I used my cable cord with my box, I picked up 250 channels. Whatever I hooked up to the coaxial input on this tv, this tv picked up! If you live in an area that receives no broadcast signals or you need a high powered antenna to pick up anything, it is not the tv's fault, but your broadcasters. So, if you want to be certain your tv is picking up the signals correctly, go to Antenna Web and check to see what channels you can get in your area and what type of antenna you need to pick up the signals. My single rabbit ear, picked up everything including the hi-def channels, and the reception was crystal clear. (Also, don't forget to go to the tv's menu, and hit the little satellite dish picture, then hit the appropriate air or cable before you scan for your channels. This way you'll be certain your tv will receive the correct signals.)
The real plus for me on this tv, is the battery, because of so many electrical outages and bad storms, this is a must have item! The battery has a life of about 2-2 1/2 hours, perfect for a few shows while waiting out bad weather, or even for entertainment when traveling. The fantastic picture really blew me away. I just love the light weight of the tv, even with the battery, it's like a feather! There is even a built in stand to put it on a table! The sound is incredible as well- two speakers and really loud! This is unheard of on these small sets! They even thought of including a plug in for headphones, if you have them (headphones are not included), for quiet listening or for travel! Whoever designed this perfect set, knew what they were doing!
UPDATE: MORE HAIER BATTERIES ARE FINALLY HERE! (September 26, 2009)
I am so happy that Haier has finally made more batteries available to purchase here on Amazon! Just type in Haier Battery and you'll see many sellers have them advertised and the prices are very competitive, starting at .00 plus shipping. I received mine quickly, tested it and we got a little over 4 hours of television with 2 batteries, which will be wonderful when we need a portable for the next power outage!(Without power, I recharged them in my car.)I've had my tv for over a year now, and it's still like new, so paying for an extra battery is definitely worth it!

My old little portable TV used for emergencies "expired" in February 2009 - so I ordered one of these because they are set up for the new digital broadcasts. The first one I received didn't pick up any channels and had no sound. I figured it had to be a damaged unit, so returned it to Amazon for a replacement and the second one is working fine. Picks up most of my local channels -Some with amazing clarity and others fuzzy, but I live out in the country, so I'm okay with that since it's really just for emergencies. I'm amazed at the technology, seeing such a sharp, full color picture on that little screen. I've read from other reviews that the battery lasts about 2 hours, but hopefully that'll get us thru a storm. Comes with AC cord, detachable antenna, triple video input cable, car plug-in, remote control (including batteries) and rechargable internal battery. Note, internal battery MUST be installed before it will come on. It's got one of those tiny plug-ins like cordless phones, so make sure it's connected. Overall, I would recommend it.

VIZIO VA370M 37-Inch Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV Reviews

I am very happy with the purchase and the TV was delivered promptly and works very well. Nice picture and sound and a great deal for a 37" 1080p flat panel. And as always my experience with Amazon has been tremendous.
My only issue is that the promotional information on Amazon and every other site that sells this set (VA370M) claims that it is 15000:1 contrast ratio. However, if you check Vizio's site it states that it is only 6500:1. When the set arrived I checked the manual and sure enough it is only 6500:1 with DCR turned on and 1300:1 on normal viewing. This is a huge difference from the internet specs from sellers of this unit.
Just wanted to give a heads up to all considering the tv. Still a good deal, but at least know the true specs.

WOW, I love this tv! I am a movie fan and generally broadcast tv doesn't hold my interest too long, but this set, coupled with cable hd channels certainly has changed that! I highly recommend this tv to anyone who is budget minded and still looking for a set size for a main room. The picture clarity and crispness is amazing and close or fairly far away the 37" screen shows it all and my only complaint is that some on air people certainly are not being treated kindly now that I see them in true HD lol. My only issue with the set is that I didn't get it sooner! The shipping and delivery was fast and it arrived in great condition. No dead or warm pixels and no complaints at all. The remote is very simply and aside from it using a c-6 style battery seems fine. I use the cable supplied remote for most everything, so not really an issue for me at all. I compared this same set with both 32" and 40 and 42" sets in a dept store here prior to buying and for the size, even the 42" isn't that much larger, certainly not enough to spend the extra, at least not for me. And the 32" just was too small by comparison. I hope this review may help someone else as I am very pleased and truly feel it was a great investment.

VIZIO VA19LHDTV10T 19-Inch ECO 720p LCD HDTV Reviews

I just bought this TV, and I really like it. It has nearly every type of connector on it, so you can hook up all of your audio/video equipment or even your computer. It was easy to hook up and it gets great HD reception with just my old rabbit ears. It gets better reception than my old TV which is hooked up to a converter box & HD antenna. The sound is good and the picture quality is very nice. I bought mine for 0.00, so look around for a good price before buying.

I purchased this at one of the larger chain stores for less than 200. You can not beat this right now anywhere.
I have it set up in my office with just a plain ole set of rabbit ears. I pick up twelve digital channels and I am basically in a concrete dungeon.
Set up was a breeze. Everyone who comes in my office is amazed by the picture and a few have gone out and purchased one for their home.
Vizio is a name you can trust and their televisions are second to none. For the money, you can't beat them.
I highly recommend any tv they make.

Toshiba 40RV525R 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Reviews

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RL6B4V365XSHF I uploaded a video of the Toshiba 40RV525R displaying some TV, Blu-Ray, and video game. (Just a small reference... obviously not going to be exactly how you see it in real life from a recorded video camera; on top of that, an internet video/low resolution/etc...)
This was my first real HDTV (supporting 1080p). Anyone can get super excited over their first HDTV and rate it a 5 star immediately (going from a standard definition to HDTV is definitely a major upgrade to anyone). However, if you're very PICKY like me, you'll be *somewhat* disappointed with the video quality.
If you're like me and have been drooling over the image quality from several of the high-end HDTV models (you know, the ones that cost over 00-00+), on display in retail stores -- and then expecting to get the same quality out of this (okay, it was wishful thinking but you never always know just from prices...), well you'll be disappointed.
When I see those TV, I'd be blown away like I'm seeing directly through a window instead of a TV screen. Naively, I was hoping for that same effect. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible that I would want to return this TV, but "you get what you pay for". (well, technically, it's still a little better than what you pay for... did that make any sense?) Just keep that in mind. For the price, though, I can't really complain so I'm keeping it.
You just won't get that super super sharpness with this. You need to be a couple feet away; up close, for the very picky eyes, you will easily notice the grainy/fuzzy-like-paintbrush/interpolated effect (I hate this...), muddled together than every object being 100% sharp to the minute detail.
The potential of the Blu-Ray image quality is definitely not there. Animation like Wall-E / Final Fantasy Spirits Within Blu-ray looks pretty good, but I'm just not that impressed when watching Dark Knight/Iron Man/Transformers/Black Hawk Down/The Matrix -- even tested it with Planet Earth and Baraka...to list a few. The graininess is just really obvious in all of them. Although, again, I am very picky in image quality.
The D-Sub connection for the PC is really worthless and waste of potential on the monitor; it only supports 1360x768 max. To get full 1920x1080 resolution from a PC, you first need a video card that has a DVI-out and supporting that resolution (or if it has an HDMI out then great).
Second, you need a HDMI male-to-DVI male cable to connect the TV to the PC's video card. I'm quite impressed with how PC games on this TV look at 1080; it easily beats from how games look on PS3. Definitely makes a great Media PC monitor.
Some other thoughts:
* I'm using the regular "rabbit ears" antenna and 1080i shows/channels still look pretty good with it.
* DVDs won't look as sharp like on a standard definition. However, again, if you're far away enough it can look okay. The contrast/blacks are definitely better/more feeling of depth in the picture. *updated thoughts at very below*
* The speakers aren't as bad as I thought. There is some surround sound. The bass is weak, but most built-in speakers are.
* When I first turned it on, 40" seemed really big to me. But after a couple weeks, it's not as big as I thought. It's good enough for a small room, but for a main TV in a large living room, you'll soon definitely want to have something larger. The screen does reflect a little bit.
* I think it's nice that it has 3 HDMI ports, which is more than enough for me. (PS3, PC thru HDMI)
* I really can't tell the difference having the benefit of "game mode" on when I play games.
* I usually turn the auto contrast mode off because it's apparent when it changes its brightness than being subtle. It's pretty annoying.
Pros:
- Good entry level HDTV at an affordable price (I can't believe I paid close to this amount for a small 19" PC monitor just a few years ago... ugh technology)
- Black finish/stand Toshiba logo glows (it can also be turned off through the menu)
- Games look good. (PS3/PC at 1920)
- Excellent for a Media PC monitor (using HDMI)
Cons:
- Doesn't look that great up close. It's not really sharp. It seems to interpolate/very grainy smudgy/"paintbrush"-like effect. (for us really picky-eye buyers)
- D-Sub is essentially worthless at 1360x768 resolution (use DVI-HDMI to connect to your PC!)
Considering this isn't Toshiba's higher REGZA model and the price, it's definitely a good entry level HDTV. Definitely far from a perfect 5 star, but if you're on a budget and not overly picky like me, you should be happy with this.
I recommend getting a HDMI cable too (don't be spending over ten dollars on it!)
Update: I was using the PS3 to playback DVD (it's supposed to upscale). However, I've recently tried playing a DVD back on a Philips DVP5982 (it has 1080p upscaling function also via HDMI) and it did A LOT better job upscaling than the PS3. The difference was quite noticeable. Of course Blu-ray video still has more detail, but the DVD looked almost as good! (depending on the DVD, the compression is still apparent, but properly upscaling that resolution really makes the difference) So I take my comment back about DVD looking not as sharp. Your mileage will definitely vary depending on what player you use, so if you have a better Blu-Ray player than the PS3 (what I used to playback Blu-Ray movies), you may get slightly better results than what I see.

I bought this television at best buy a few weeks ago, and I am incredibly happy with it. As stated by other reviewers, this is a SOLID entry level hdtv with only minor drawbacks.
Picture Quality: is GREAT. Those with INCREDIBLY picky eyes will be the ones that sit there and analyze each pixel, but the bottom line is this is a 1080p television and the blu-rays and video games I play through my PS3 (playstation 3) look fantastic. Absolutely can't beat the quality for the price!!
Sound Quality: this is where the tv gets shaky. the sound isn't great, just average. A different reviewer said that flat televisions don't become flat by getting large speakers, very true. you'll want to buy some sort of speaker system to go with the television to get that true theater experience. PERSONALLY, I just use the tv in my 10x12 room so the sound is adequate for me, but i'm still thinking of getting speakers.
Features: the tv has great black levels and colors. you will want to do alot of tweeking right out of the box because all of the factory levels are set so high. Once you get the tv to a good spot, just sit back and enjoy looking at all the cracks and crevices on people's faces. there are some features that I don't think do much, like "game mode" specifically, but they are nice to have.
OVERALL: If this is your first foray into the HDTV world, like it was for me, I would HIGHLY recommend this television. This is especially recommended for those of us on a budget, but wanting to make the move to HD.

WARNING >>> WARNING>>> WARNING!!!
If you're buying this to serve as a computer monitor, it is perhaps the best value out there for this screen size, especially if you do intensive graphics or Autocad. At the same time, and since it has a built-in Tuner, it can serve as an emergency TV set at the office, whether the office is inside or outside your residence.
If you are buying it to serve primarily as an HDTV, however, Stop right here and Read:
This is Not a 16X9 Screen; this is a 16 X 10.5 .... Read carefully: The Ratio of this screen is Not a 16 X 9 .... It is 16 X 10.5 ..... You will Not be able to obtain a true Wide Screen Image on this TV ! .... The tuner sends the signal processed for Wide Screen display Yet there is No Wide Screen to Display it as processed, the result is a vertically stretched image. This cannot be corrected by selecting a different display mode.
As a Computer Monitor, I will give it 4 Stars. .... As an HDTV, however, I can only give it no rating what so ever .... Zero Stars as a TV....!
This should be reclassified as a 1920 X 1200 Monitor .... But should never be classified as a 1080p Wide Screen HDTV because it is simply misleading.
Conclusion:
Buy it with total confidence as a 1920 X 1200 Monitor.
Do Not Buy it as a 1080p 16 X 9 Wide Screen HDTV .... It is Not.

Do not count on any type of response if you have a question or a problem. The 866# only refers the caller to a long distance number via automated responder. When called you are put on hold for the "next" available service tech (I think there is only one and they wish you would go away). When they do answer, the person does not know anything. He will take your info. and tell you a "trained" technician will call you back soon. No one ever calls. Even after following up from my end with an email and another call. No response.
